Teacher. Postman. PGA Advanced Coach. Senior Tour competitor.
After nearly thirty years of teaching golf, I am returning to professional competition at 56 — not as a comeback, but as the completion of something I have carried with me throughout all those years of coaching others.
My aim is to compete and win on the Staysure Legends Tour.
Years ago, I set a Club Championship scoring record of 68–69. The ability was never the question. The tour was simply the unfinished chapter.
Then life took me in another direction.
I became a postman.
The dream was put down, but it was never lost.
Now I am picking it back up.
Scotland changed everything.
At the ISPS Handa Senior Open Qualifier at Blairgowrie, I stood one under through fourteen holes, with my caddie and mental specialist, Katrin — who happens to be my wife — right beside me.
She was not simply carrying the bag. She was reading me in real time, helping me stay calm when the round tightened and keeping me focused on the shot in front of me.
That round was more than a score. It showed me that the game is still fully in me at this level — and showed us what is possible when the mental and physical sides of my game are working together.
I am now preparing for Staysure Legends Tour Qualifying School and the journey beyond it.
This is not simply a golfer looking for sponsorship.
It is a two-season campaign built around a story people can follow — the preparation, the training, Qualifying School, tournament weeks, setbacks, breakthroughs and life on tour.
Katrin will be beside me throughout the journey as my caddie and mental specialist, as she was in Scotland.
I am looking for a Principal Partner to become part of that journey from the beginning.
There are already many talented players on the senior tours.
What there is not is someone who has walked this exact road:
Teacher. Postman. PGA Advanced Coach. Senior competitor.
And beside him, a caddie and mental specialist who happens to be his wife.
People want to see the underdog rise. They want to see whether it can actually be done.
Once you've made it, you've made it.
The opportunity is to be there before the outcome is known — while it is still becoming.
This is the beginning of the journey.
